Just picked up this new rack the other day. Holds 6 bikes vertically. Made by Loloracks. It’s a very nice rack and I was super excited to use it last night after work! Can fit 6 people in the R, and now 6 bikes, so it works out great!

If this was on a Subaru, Toyota, or Jeep, it would be peak PNW.
Well, save for that the bikes are actually dirty.

The bikes do hang out pretty far away from the car though, gotta be careful in parking lots.

Mmm, dat Pivot doe

Wow, that looks pretty damn sweet. Thankfully I’ve a car that only just about fits 4 and a rack that fits 3 (and the wife can’t ride a bike)!
I have to admit I’ve actually taken away two bikes for myself on trips before..

I’d be a little scared of destroying 6 bikes when someone stops a little long behind you. But that’s pretty clever packaging.
So the R is about 27 feet long now? :P

Nice! I’ve seen the north shore racks before but haven’t seen one that holds them in the reverse orientation . How do you like it?
I’ve got a fork mount setup in the Land Cruiser. Good for keeping salt and road spray off them.

That looks a lot like a north shore rack. Pretty awesome being able to haul 6 bikes on a car.

Wow, that is some serious bike capacity.

Yesterday a truck carrying dozens of bikes for a marathon in Cancun was mugged, something like forty high-end bikes were stolen

Sweet, I’m pulling the trigger on a hitch rack in the next little bit. Right now the NorthShore 4 is the top of my list;
other two options are the Thule T2 classic and the Yakima Holdup..

Yeah, I’m extra cautious about people coming up behind me.
73 actually!

Love it! Choice was between this, North Shore, and Recon. Recon was way more expensive, and these are made local to me. Easy decision. Loving it so far. Has a loop to lock lock the bikes with a cable. The bikes are super stable. And nothing gets damaged.
I like the option of putting bikes in the car like you have, but that also means mud in the car. Which I avoid when I can.

I saw a couple negative reviews about the North Shore damaging some bikes which is one of two reasons I didn't go that route. Loloracks makes a 4 bike also. The hold up is a great option too. Especially the way it locks the bikes in place, no need for cables.

I’m probably taking both of my bikes on Sunday, so I know what you're talking about!

Damn! That's scary!

Absolutely. I’ll always make a point of parking in a way to minimize the risk of someone running into them. But that's a risk with any hitch rack.

It’s so good! Best bike I've ever ridden by a long shot.

Probably on the same highway I just traveled on last week

Yeah, they’re very similar. There were some things I liked better about this one. Admittedly, one of thos e being these are made locally so I picked mine up from the company owner's house. Cool guy.

Don’t get mugged yourself!

A, didn't consider that. We don't get much mud in CO/UT so it's a non-issue here. (=

I’ve seen those as well, and heard from a few rider friends that they are harder to load, and can
drop bikes if they are not secured. Looking around though I’m seeing a lot of them (BC! Yay!) and they fold down really nice without bikes.
The Holdup and T2 with 4 bikes are way out the back, maybe if only two bikes were on it would be doable but add the kids bikes and you are looking at a long tail. The uprights are the same length whether they are 2/4/6 bikes. Plus the cost of $600+$400 for the +2 kit..
We’ll see.

Mud is half the fun!

I found this to be super easy to load and the bikes feel secure enough I’m not sure I would even need the bungees to keep them from falling. Also pivots down nicely so I can open the tailgate. The pin for the pivot is quite tight, but that’s my only complaint and I think it’s just a matter of the powder coating being a smidge thick. I'll hit it with a round file and some grease, should be perfect after that.

Flat pedals? Kids these days!

Very smart and lucrative target. High end bicycles are not only really expensive, but they are intentionally as lightweight as possible. They can be worth upwards of $300 per pound.

Oh I’m sorry, but it’s not my fault you egg- beaters can’t keep your feet in place on chunder or airs!

Egg beaters are for pussies. I use shimano cranked up to 10.

Joke's on you buddy, I don't even use pedals, I move my bike via telekinesis.
